Our planet is in peril. If we don’t change, we won’t survive.

When our nearby Gulf of Mexico became the scene of the U.S.’s worse eco-disaster ever, Fresh Rocket felt compelled to lend our talents to the widespread efforts to communicate the strong belief that the time has come to make drastic and positive changes in our energy policies. Our efforts are anchored by ChangeSurvive.com, as well as a very active Facebook page and Twitter updates.

For over 40 years, the government, and the people, of the U.S. have ignored one opportunity after another to change our addiction to oil. The OPEC oil embargo in 1973 was a perfect opportunity to start the change. We ignored it. President Jimmy Carter outlined his oil crisis warning in 1979. We ignored it. The Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989 was a clear example of the environmental perils of crude oil. We ignored it. 9-11 bluntly showed how our oil addiction was directly funding those who most wanted to destroy our country. We ignored it.

Sadly, despite what should have been an unmistakeable wake-up call, America continues to ignore what we are doing to our world. Today, it is more important than ever to communicate what a crisis we face.

Our original video, The Fable of the Third Planet attempts to do that. Written by Joyce, the story is a compelling look at the perils of ignoring the damage we are doing to our planet. It features a voice-over by David K. Jones and wonderful photography from a variety of photographers.
